war, war never changes

miles walks outside his home in the suburban area of station square. he had moved there from mobius to get a break from everything. his house was pretty close to the large forest separating the suburbs and city. he shuts his garage, where he had been working on an airplane, and starts to go for a walk. he notices military jeeps rolling down the street and wondered what was going on. his cousin veron was in the military here. *1st person pov* i run over to an army officer. “What’s going on?” he looks at me gravely. “That’s classified. but i need you to start getting all the things you can carry and evacuate this area” i give him a questioning look. he sighs. “If you really must know, we have possible invasion by russian forces” “What?? why is that?” he looks at me like i’m crazy. “Have you been living under a rock? world war 3 has broken out!” he sends me away and i hurry home. i get on my laptop and send a message to an equestrian friend of mine, who happened to live nearby, a message to meet me at my place. she replies right away. ‘i heard about the possible invasion. maybe we should leave earth and return home...’ i shake my head. ‘and leave all these people here to die?’ ‘miles… you know there’s not much we can do. let’s just let the army take care of it. but i will meet you at your place so we can figure out something to do’ i shut my laptop’s lid and start packing a backpack veron had given me in case something like this happened. i open a locked desk in my office and take a beretta i had if i ever needed it. i fit the holster on my pants and holster the pistol after making sure it was chambered. i pack blankets, medical supplies, spare clothing, and food into the pack, i knew we’d probably need it if what that officer said was true. i hear a knock on my door and answer. i let twilight in, who i hadn’t seen in a while, we normally talked through letters and e-mails. i smile at her, glad to see her. “did you see anything on your way here?” she nods. “i saw several planes flying in the sky? i couldn’t tell if they were friendly or not…” i knew they weren’t. i hear banging on my door. i tell her to hide and get a knife ready. the door is broken down and a russian soldier storms in. i kick them down and stab them in the chest. twilight gasps. “Why did you do that??” i pick up the ak47 they were carrying. “Because they would’ve killed us if i hadn’t done that. come on, we need to get out of here” she nods and i grab my pack and put the ak over my shoulder. a military jeep was nearby to get civies out. we start to run toward it and it explodes, knocking us to the ground. i see the officer i was talking to earlier dead on the ground. i shake my head. “Come on, we need to find a safer place” she nods and follows me, she kept looking around frantically. i forgot she had never been in any situation like this before. i knew celestia would kill me if anything happened to her while i was with her. i grab a radio that was intact from the destroyed jeep and see if i can see if anyone would pick up. “hello! is anyone there? where do we need to go?” there was static for a few moments until we got an answer. “This is sergeant foley! you need to get away from there! russian forces are pouring in and we need you to head to any building with good protection and keep your heads down, that’s an order!” “okay, thanks for the help” we run into the forest and start heading for the city. “Twi, if we can find a good location to hide, we’ll talk about what we should do” she nods, trying to keep calm. i couldn’t believe she was dragged into this. she had come here just a few days ago to visit me and to get away from her duties on equestria for a little bit. we stop to rest for a bit, knowing we were far enough into the forest to slow down. it was getting dark out so i build a fire and pitch the tent i had. i was winded from the weight of the supplies i brought. i look over at her, she looked worried. “Miles, what if we can’t make it out of this mess?” i shrug. “I don’t know, but i’m not going to let anything happen to you even if it means my own life” that seemed to calm her down a bit, but i knew she was still worried. i walk off to find some more wood for the fire. it was really dark and cold in this forest and i knew we shouldn’t stay for long. i return to find twilight writing a letter. “what’cha writing about?” she looks up at me. “I’m writing a letter to send in case things do take a turn for the worse…” i noticed she had been crying while i was gone, her eyes were wet with tears. i sit down next to her. “Hey, i doubt that letter will even be necessary, i’m pretty sure we’ll make it out of here” i smile at her and she nods. “miles, i’m going to try and get some sleep” i nod, feeling worn out myself. we both get into our sleeping bags. she was asleep almost right away, but i had a lot of trouble getting myself to even shut my eyes. i eventually could get to sleep though, but my head was swimming with worry. *twilight pov* i had a nightmare about him, watching him die protecting me… i know he would risk his life for me, but i don’t want him to die. in the dream, i saw myself being taken to a jeep to be evacuated and watching the building he had stayed in blow up with him still inside. i wanted to tell him how i felt about him, but knew it’d be in vain if what i saw in the dream really happens. i wake up to him shaking me. “Twi! we need to go, i hear russians” i nod and help him quickly pack everything up. we start running again, away from the invading forces. we get out of the forest and i see a building out of the corner of my eye, it was the same building from my dream. dread filled me as i heard him say we needed to get inside of that building. We get inside and right as he was about to step foot inside, shots ring out. I watch in horror as he's hit and knocked to the ground from three bullets hitting his back, blood splattering out. *normal pov* she panics. "Miles!!" He coughs up some blood and shakily tries to stand up, biting his lip in major pain. He falls over, feeling warm blood leak down his back. A group of u.s soldiers notice them and head over to help. Miles tells me to quickly change skin tone to look human and she nods, despite extremely worried about him. They look at him and shake their heads. They grab her "come on, we're going to get you to safety" she shakes her head, tears going down her face. "I'm not leaving him here!" They sigh. "I'm sorry ma'am, he's a goner. We really need to go!" They force her to leave. "Nooo! Miles! Please no!" They felt bad for forcing her to leave him, but they knew he was too far gone to save. she gives up trying to fight them and sits in the jeep. it starts driving away and she hears a loud explosion and turns around to see the building in flames. she starts sobbing, she knew it was going to happen, but didn’t warn him. she’s taken to a refugee camp. she shakes her head and returns to equestria. sonic and dash were sitting in the throne room when twilight walks in. they look at her. “Twilight? what’s wrong? where’s tails?” she shakes her head. “An invasion of the area we were staying in happened… miles was hit three times protecting me and the building he was in exploded…” dash gasps and sonic was silent. sonic gets up and starts walking out of the room, all of the windows in the entire castle shatter. he disappears in a flash of green light. dash shakes her head. “Oh no… sonic is angry…” twilight shakes her head. “Good… i hope he kills all of those bastards…” sonic appears on earth in front of a battalion of russian soldiers, in his nightmare form. they all get blown back, except their guns, which sonic points at them and pulls the triggers, slaughtering them. a black sword forms in his hand. luna sensed his anger and teleports to earth to observe. she sees the bodies of the soldiers he had killed when he got here. he teleported across the city in a blind rage, completely destroying the russian forces in the area in mere seconds. she was impressed and could care less how many humans he had slain, as long as it had no effect on equestria. she was able to see his prowess in battle if war did break out on equestria, which she planned to start. she teleports in front of veron prower. “You are veron, correct?” he nods. “Who are you? why are you here?” “I’m luna, i’ve come to bring you bad news. miles prower was cut down by the russian forces while he was here. i thought you should know. my son is currently taking care of said forces as we speak. i think you might know him, sonic?” he nods. “Wait, he’s actually killing people?! i thought he didn’t do that” she smiles. “That was before he discovered his true dark abilities. you and the other u.s soldiers can relax. you won’t need to retake this area now” he nods. “I know people like you, you have another reason for coming to me” she nods. “Very perceptive! i wish to offer you a chance to fight for another cause” he nods. “What do you have in mind? it’d better be good intentions, especially considering you’re sonic’s mother” she nods. “My sister has been ruling the kingdom of equestria for way too long, over 1000 years, she’s corrupt and a murderer, i need a supersoldier” he nods. “You somehow know about the tests i went through, right?” she nods. “There’s another i tried recruiting, but he refused, saying he wanted nothing to do with it” he nods. “Shadow, not a surprise” he nods. “Thanks for sending sonic to help us” she shakes her head. “I didn’t send him, he came here to avenge miles” veron sighs, knowing veronica wasn’t going to like this, she had been excited about him being here and was planning on visiting him, now she can’t. sonic’s hands were soon covered in the blood of over 2000 russian soldiers. he makes his way to the building and makes it rain over it, dowsing the fire. he steps through the rubble, but didn’t see him. he sighs, actually relieved. he hears something and turns around to see five BTR’s and ten hind helicopters facing him, as well as 500 russian soldiers. he smiles, seeing they were still trying. luna appears overhead, seeing sonic’s opposition. she saw he needed help. she materializes next to him. he smiles, knowing she had been watching him. they combined their powers and were soon crackling with dark energy, their bodies completely black, their eyes white. sonic had this form even before knowing of his equestrian origin, but now had more control over the form. the russians start running and they lunge. celestia hastily fixes the windows, now annoyed at sonic. twilight was sitting in the room wiping tears from her face. celestia walks over after fixing everything. “What’s wrong?” “Miles and i got attacked while on earth during a war that made it there… he died protecting me from them…” she nods, now knowing why sonic had shattered the windows. “Where’d sonic and luna go?” “To earth… i have a feeling they’ll return covered in blood. she sighs, seeing sonic’s anger turned to bloodlust. civilian bystanders watch in shock as sonic and luna slaughter the forces. *on the news* “reports are coming in that the invading russian forces are being pushed back by two beings alone. bystanders are giving multiple counts that known hero sonic the hedgehog, who hasn’t been on earth in several years is one of the two figures, the other one well…” a picture drawn based on what was observed of the other figure is shown. “they keep saying a pony of all things was responsible for the other push backs!” sonic and luna work and push all russian forces out of new york. they return to canterlot that night completely soaked in blood.  celestia felt sick just looking at them. “Just… go clean off…” they nod. twilight runs over. sonic sighs. “Twilight, i looked, but couldn’t find his body. i don’t know if he’s still alive or not” she nods, assuming the worse. “Well, thank you for at least avenging him” sonic nods. “I have the blood of thousands of russian soldiers covering me right now, i avenged him and all of the innocent lives they took in the attack” she nods. veron is relieved to find sonic had completely destroyed the opposition and there was nothing left of the invading forces, reports came in that they were in full retreat. he returns home and veronica hugs him. “You’re alive! how’d it go?” “Well, sonic of all people showed up and started slaughtering the russians” she blinks. “The sonic we know?? why would he do that?” he sighs. “Sonic did that because tails was among the people killed at the beginning of the invasion…” this really put a damper on her good mood. “w-what…?” he nods. “He’s dead… i saw the building he was in explode.” she starts crying, hugging him tightly. he hugs her back, rubbing her head “shh… there’s nothing we could’ve done to save him” “D-did you recover his body?” he shakes his head. “Sonic went looking and couldn’t find one. my guess is it was destroyed in the explosion. i’m sorry…” sonic travels to mobius and breaks the news there. knuckles was shocked. “I thought he was a kitsune! aren’t those things unkillable?” he nods. “Yeah, but when they’re in fox form maybe. but he wasn’t on earth” knuckles shakes his head. “How are his cousins holding up?” he shakes his head. “They’re destroyed by this. i swear this is the first time i’ve ever seen veronica actually cry” he nods. “How’s twilight?” “She’s locked herself in her home and is refusing to leave, we could hear her sobbing. knuckles shakes his head. “That’s horrible…” cream was good friends with tails and was crying in vanilla’s arms. shadow was a little shocked too. “Never actually thought he’d die… i doubt i could’ve even killed him” they all give shadow the stink eye. “You’re aren’t really helping…” he nods. “So sonic, how’d you react to it?” sonic gives him a grave look. “I slaughtered the russian forces there. i didn’t leave a single survivor…” shadow thought he was kidding at first, but had noticed sonic had been a lot more serious about things lately, and darker. sonic returns to equestria. the moment he got back, a thunderstorm starts outside, severely darkening the sky, blotting out the sun. celestia tells him to stop and he brushs her off. “Leave me alone… i just lost my little brother, really think i care right now??” she shakes her head and walks off. veron walks into the castle in canterlot that night and bows at luna. she smiles. “I see you considered my offer?” “Well, it’s the least i could do after you and sonic helped us” she nods. “Good, come on. i wish to develop a few more tests on you before you’re ready” he nods. “Fine by me. as long i keep my sanity” she nods. “The tests won’t be that bad” he nods and follows her to an underground lab under the castle. he’s strapped to a table and undergoes numerous tests that take all night. by morning, he had black magick and abilities that made him very dangerous, even more so than shadow. sonic watched these tests happen and knew luna was starting the revolution soon. twilight heard something outside and looked out into the torrent of rain coming down and notices something moving toward her home. it goes inside the house next to her’s, which was miles’ home. she runs outside and knocks on the door. the door handle turns and it opens. no ones was there. she walks inside the darkened home. she noticed a lot of things were knocked over and there were claw and scorch marks on the walls and door. she closes the door and her horn lights up to allow her to see. she notices something passed out on the floor. lightning strikes outside and she sees it was him. she runs over and tries to wake him, but he was out cold. she makes a water bucket appear over him and pours it on him. he wakes up knocks the bucket away, making her jump. he blinks a few times. “T-twi?” she hugs him. “Miles… i thought you died!” he feels his head. “After the building blew up, i don’t remember what happened…” she nods. “Come on, i want to make sure you’re okay” he nods and they go to her place. his fur was a mess and the holes in his back were somehow gone. his mind was mostly blank right now. she helps him get his fur back to normal and uses numerous healing spells on him to make sure he was okay. he felt better once she was done, but still had no idea what happened and how he got back. she hugs him. “Don’t scare me like that again!” he nods. “Sorry, i’m glad you’re safe though. what happened while i was gone?” “Well, sonic went to earth and completely destroyed the forces that made it look like you died” he nods. “He did?” she nods. “he returned completely covered in blood” he nods. “I...i didn’t know sonic would do that for me…” she nods. “You are his little brother” he nods. she took this opportunity to tell him something. “Miles, while you were presumed dead, i mourned you… i’ve been wanting to tell you something ever since i had met up with you on earth.” he nods, he knew what she was probably going to say, but let her finish. “miles, i love you” he smiles. “I’ve been waiting for you to say that…” they kiss passionately. they separate. “I love you to, twi” they kiss again. “I need to go let sonic know i’m alive. he should know” she nods. “I’m coming with you” he smiles. they travel to canterlot through the torrent of rain. sonic was leaning on a wall in the throne room when they enter. he smiles. “Knew you weren’t really dead. but it felt good to get my anger out” tails nods. “How many did you kill??” “About 5000. it was enough to get them run away in fear. i told veron to let me know if they return and i’ll do it again” he nods. “I’d hate to go against you in a fight then…” sonic nods. “Speaking of which… twilight, has luna yet told you about what she’s planning to do?” she shakes her head. “no, what is she going to do?” “Attempt to remove her sister from power” twilight gasps. “She can’t do that!” he shakes his head. “You know she is capable of it. the only reason she hadn’t tried sooner is because celestia still had the elements of harmony. i already got dash’s word that she’d stand against celestia. making the elements powerless if you and the other four choose to stand against us. i recommend not doing that…” he walks into the lunar wing. twilight had to tell celestia. miles shakes his head. “Stop, she’ll figure it out soon enough, it’s best that we don’t get involved. you know what she’s done and you know she’s corrupt” twilight sighs. “I know… it’s just, i would be where i am without her guidance…” he nods. “well, she has to fall, one way or another. i agree with sonic after hearing what had happened. how’d you feel if she killed me and banished you for 1000 years?” twilight sighs. “I’d want to kill her…” he nods. “exactly. dash and sonic feel this way” twilight nods. “In that case, i want us to leave this area until it’s over” he nods. “Come on then…” she shakes her head. “not yet, i want to say goodbye to my actual family before we go.” he nods. “Okay” they travel to the crystal empire. twilight visits cadence and shining armor and tells them about what’s going to happen. they were shocked and worried. “Celestia will likely expect me to lead the counterattack… we heard about what sonic and luna did on earth. i don’t really want to stand up to that…” twilight nods. “You’d be killed. i don’t want that to happen. even i don’t exactly agree with celestia. but i don’t want her to make the decision to send you to your death. she did the same thing to luna’s husband in the original battle of the crystal empire” they nod. “We know, it was a tragedy.” twilight nods. “please try and stay out of the battle. is it okay miles and i hide out somewhere in the city?” they smile. “Of course. are you and miles close?” twilight nods. “Yeah…” cadence and twilight walk off to talk about it. “I met miles last year when sonic returned and he had followed him here. sonic actually pointed me out for him and everything. we started talking a lot and writing letters to each other. we eventually got very close” cadence nods. “Wow, and think i didn’t have to help you. my cousin did” twilight nods. “he scared me yesterday. it looked like he had died in what happened on earth and i found him passed out in his home tonight” she nods. “How’d he get back?” she shrugs. “he says he doesn’t remember. his house was a mess though, there were claw marks and scorch marks on the walls and floor, like a demon had rampaged” she nods. “Are you sure it’s safe to be around him…?” twilight nods. “even if he is what caused that, i know he wouldn’t hurt me” she nods. “you have a lot of trust in him. how far do you plan to go with him?” twilight blushes. “i don’t know yet. i’m hoping we can stay together and be like you and shining armor eventually” cadence smiles. “Good goal to set for the relationship. love can stay strong as long as you two trust each other” twilight nods. “anyway, is there any empty places miles and i can move to?” she nods. “there’s a house near the castle that furnished and set up for somepony to live in, but no one currently lives there. but there’s only one problem” she blinks. “What?” cadence grins. “There’s only one bed in the place and the place kind of has sort of a romantic setting” twilight’s face reddens, embarrassed by the idea. “i-is that the only option?” she nods. “I’m afraid so, is that a problem?” twilight shakes her head. “no, i might a little uncomfortable though… we aren’t THAT close yet” she shrugs. “well, that’s the only option besides staying in the castle. which isn’t an option if a war does break out. and i know celestia will come looking for you” she nods. “fine, we’ll take it…” cadence nods. “sorry if it wasn’t something you expected” she sighs. “It’s fine, we’ll just need to get used to it. you never know, it might even help us get closer…” cadence nods and twilight leads tails to the house they would stay in. he noticed the house was dark red. they get inside and look around. the walls were red and champaign and wine were sitting on a counter along with glasses. there was slow jazz playing. miles looks at her, both of their faces were bright red. “t-this is where we’re staying?” she nods. “Cadence said it was the only option…” “Princess cadence?? sonic told me she’s specializes in love and romance…” she nods. “S-she does. you don’t think she put us here deliberately, do you?” he nods. “I think she did…” they go upstairs and he sees there was only one bed, which had the same theme as the rest of the place. twilight notices a piece of paper. it said ‘rainbow dash was here. this place was perfect for the honeymoon. i swear there’s something in the wine that brings a different part of me out... this place was romantic and the perfect place for naughty activities… <3’ twilight pales. “t-this is where sonic and rainbow dash had their honeymoon….” miles sighs. “Yep, she put us here on purpose… but, we could probably make it work…” she shrugs, feeling very awkward. tails finds and shuts off the music. he puts the alcohol in the fridge, which he then sees whipped cream and chocolate, he felt like he’d have a nosebleed if he ever saw twilight like how he was imagining. he quickly shuts the fridge and gets that image out of his head. he just hoped this place didn’t start to get to him. he yawns, tired after what happened on earth. he realized they’d have to sleep in the same bed and felt dizzy. he walks upstairs to see her looking at the nightgowns, which a lot were frilly and/or skimpy. she puts one on and he has a slight nose bleed. the one she picked was red and was see-through on certain parts. she notices. “Miles… this, will be difficult to get used to… i recommend us going and getting some of our own things while we’re here” he nods. “Agreed…” he wipes his nose off. she walks over and kisses him, he felt her get close and almost fainted. she lets go and apologizes. “s-sorry…” he nods. “i’m fine… it would’ve made more sense for us to come here once we were closer…” she nods. “We are close, but no where near close enough to utilize what’s here” she nods. “I’ve never had champaign though… i’ve had wine a few times at some of the events that the royal family are required to go to. i remember dash made a fowl of herself…” “what happened?” twilight giggles a bit. “She got drunk and almost passed out in sonic’s lap” he nods. “wow, that would be embarrassing. how’d she react after she got around?” “she said she’d watch herself when she does drink and said she’s never going to those events again. dash really isn’t suited for such events anyway” he nods and yawns. “I need some sleep..” she nods. “Me too” they look at the crimson canopy bed and blush. they get in the bed and lay next to each other. neither one of them spoke, too embarrassed. they eventually got to sleep though. tails actually found it extremely weird to be sleeping in the same bed sonic and rainbow dash did ‘things’ in. tails wakes up in the morning to see she had moved while sleeping and was now laying her head on his chest. she wakes up soon after him and notices. she quickly sits up. he notices the top part of her sleepwear was slipping. it finishes slipping and he had another nose bleed, this one worse than the last. she quickly covers herself and fixes it. she couldn’t believe that just happened with him looking at her. they get dressed for the day and head to ponyville to get a few things while there. both were still blushing from what happened when they woke up. dash flies over. “so… where are you staying until this is over?” they look up and dash notices their expressions. “Something happen?” they nod. “Well, cadence suggested where we should stay and we found out it’s where you and sonic stayed for your honeymoon!” dash pales. “Wait…. i left that note there?! umm….” she flies off, embarrassed. twilight grabs a few books she was reading and some clothes and packs them in a bag. tails didn’t grab that much, he didn’t want to be tinkering with machines the entire time and knew he would if he brought them. (he might be tinkering with something else….if you know what i mean…. O__<) they head back. dash tells sonic where they’re staying and he facepalms. “That’s cadence for you. i bet she was just dying to find out who twilight was with” dash nods. “you know that note i had wrote to myself to remind us to go back there?” he nods. “You didn’t… leave it there, did you?” she nods. “sorry…” he sighs. “great… now those two know we did ‘things’ in the bed they’re sleeping in…” dash nods. “I bet that’s a little unsettling…” he grins and kisses her. “Which reminds me… we haven’t done said ‘things’ in a little while… you still want a child, right?” she smiles and nods. “come on, let’s have some fun before violence starts to break out.” he nods and they fly up to dash’s home. sonic made sure to put a sound proof spell on the place. twilight and miles try to make it look less lovey-dovey but couldn’t do much. twilight and miles spend an entire year living in that house, they soon were a lot more comfortable with the setting, actually got a lot closer from it. they look out at the night sky, seeing the stars and full moon, enjoying the silence. miles goes inside and she notices. “Miles? what’re you doing?” he comes out holding the bottle of champagne and two glasses. “I thought we could open this now. we’ve had it in there since we pretty much moved in… i think it’s a good time” she smiles. “and to think a year ago we were embarrassed by all this…” he nods and pops it open. he pours the sparkling liquid into the glasses and hands one to her. she sits it down and he sits his down after taking a sip. they kiss, holding it for a few minutes. during the time the two of them were having a peaceful and quiet life, the others back in ponyville and canterlot were thrown into a civil war. the rest of the mane six besides dash took celestia’s side. veron, who was the nlr’s secret weapon, was taking out celestia’s forces by the hundreds. celestia’s elite paladin guard held luna’s forces back this entire time. luna was clever though, she had specialized assassins sneak behind and take them out with explosives and traps. eventually a break was made through the solar force’s defence. veron had gone through so many tests, he was more deadly in combat than even shadow. his eyes glowed yellow, striking fear into the solar forces he went against. luna was based in ponyville while celestia in the canterlot castle. celestia had stolen some of luna’s weapon plans she had kept secret and had those made. she sees her defence was breaking and decided it was time to deploy the new weapon. the canterlot castle doors open and 50 solar guards stand guard in front of the doors in white cloaks. luna’s sent word of this and wondered what she was up to. veron gets up to them and two of quickly grab him and luna watches as he’s stabbed through with white hot blades. they push him to the side and the rest of them switch theirs on and charge the attacking force. luna swears under her breath, seeing celestia had found her blueprints. she knew she’d have to send in her back up plan. she calls in a radio. she had a large military force on hold in case her other forces were pushed back. armored jeeps with heavy machine guns on top rolled in, followed by tens of thousands of lunar troops in special armor luna had made. most of these troops were armed with heavy weaponry like mobile miniguns, missile launchers, brownings, and various other lead spitters. they pour into the destroyed streets of canterlot, easily pushing back and destroying the solar forces. celestia sees dash leading this force and shakes her head. she couldn’t believe what she had caused. if she hadn’t done that then, she might have the full element holders on her side. dash charges the guards at the front of the castle. she grabs one of their blades and starts fighting them. she takes out a large portion of them before one hits her in the side. dash finally noticed there were only four of them left, she knew who they were. she felt blood start to leak out of her mouth and tears from her eyes. she shakily stands up and glares at them. “celestia’s p-personal soldiers, huh? do you even know what she’s done?? i f-found out she killed my family… she’s ruined my entire life! twilight believed me, why don’t you fucking believe me?!?” luna sees this and orders her forces to stop. fluttershy was the one to make the hit on dash. she drops her weapon and runs off. the other ones drop theirs too and walk away without a word. dash feels her side to feel a lot of blood. the pain was unbearable. the four walk inside to celestia. “Is what dash said true?” she shakes her head. “Why would i do that?” “It would explain why she’s the only one of us who has no idea where her parents are! you forced us to go out there… and now our friend is out there dying because you ordered us to keep anyone out, and to attack them on sight…” she nods. “It was necessary” fs shakes her head. “no… no it isn’t! i had always thought you were such a nice and peaceful princess… this is proving that wrong… how are you expecting this to turn out, anyway? are we just going to keep fighting and spilling blood until we’re all dead??? and what do you plan to do if you can defeat your sister?” celestia was silent. they hear grunts and footsteps and turn around to see dash limping along, blood leaking from her mouth. she had a pistol in the hand she wasn’t holding her side with. “i-i’ve had enough of your tyranny… even if it means my death, i won’t stop until you’re dead…” the four of them get out of her way, not going to stop her. dash points the gun at her and uses what strength she could muster to pull the trigger three times. once that happened, she drops it. “It’s done then…” she falls over, feeling darkness embracing her. the place was now deathly silent, the only noise was the sound of blood dripping. twilight and miles hear the news that the war was over and go to the castle in the crystal empire. the flags were at half staff and cadence was sobbing. twilight runs over. “What’s wrong? what happened?” “w-well, celestia lost the battle… but…” she nods. “What happened?!” “celestia died at the end of it… so did dash… dash died of blood loss from her injuries after she killed celestia…” twilight was silent, completely shocked to hear this. luna now felt horrible for what happened. sonic didn’t even respond when told the bad news, he didn’t want to. he walks away when she told him. he walked past the buildings in canterlot and they crumbled from his abilities. it starts raining very hard and washing away the blood of the fallen. the royal family had been torn apart by this, thousands of families across equestria were broken too. after things settled and canterlot and ponyville were rebuilt, nothing was the same, there weren’t as many ponies going along and there was a layer of gloom from what happened. luna sits in the broken castle in tears. she never wanted so many to die from this. her own son didn’t want to even look at her anymore. twilight returns there and hugs luna. “I-i’m sorry to hear what happened…” luna shakes her head. “the elements of harmony are broken from this… there’s no harmony in what happened….” twilight nods. “h-how did dash die?” luna knew this would upset her. “Celestia forced the four of your friends fight dash… the element of kindness delivered the killing blow i’m afraid” twilight gasps. “What?!? w-why… would she do that?!?” twilight runs to ponyville. she gets to fluttershy’s place to find the door was wide open. she walks inside to find she had committed suicide for doing what she did. twilight looks away, not wanting to look, not wanting to believe this was happening. dash’s home over ponyville was completely gone, no trace of it was left. twilight finds a note. ‘to anyone who finds me, i’m sorry. i just can’t live with myself knowing that i’m responsible for the death of my best friend… i’m now going to tell her i’m sorry- fluttershy’ twilight felt tears go down her face. she was horrified by this. the other three of her friends wouldn’t talk about what happened and they all had injuries and scars covering their bodies from what happened. many homes in ponyville and canterlot were now vacant because their owners were no longer alive. twilight starts hitting herself and pinching herself. “this has to be a dream… please let this just be a dream…” nothing was happening, this wasn’t a dream, her friends and family really were dead. funerals were had for the fallen. a special tomb was made for dash, who was decorated as a war hero for her actions.
